Following its partnership with Singapore Airlines, Marriott International has joined forced another major Asian airline into its travel programme, Marriott Bonvoy.
By collaborating with Cathay’s loyalty programme, Cathay Membership, eligible members will gain exclusive access to both programmes' membership benefits through limited status match offer, and accelerated points earning via seamless two-way conversion between Miles and Points.
With this partnership, Marriott International gains access to Cathay's extensive membership base, connecting with 11 million Cathay members globally. These members will now have access to Marriott Bonvoy's global portfolio of nearly 8,800 hotels and resorts spanning over 30 brands.
Effective immediately, Marriott Bonvoy and Cathay members can enjoy various benefits and privileges, including hotel stay redemptions, two-way points transfer, and enhanced flight and travel package experiences.
Key reciprocal benefits of the partnership include:
- Two-way points conversion: Marriott Bonvoy Points can be exchanged with Asia Miles from Cathay, unlocking exclusive member privileges. With the 2-way conversion programme, members can convert 3 Marriott Bonvoy points to 1 Asia Mile, and 2 Asia Miles can become 1 Marriott Bovoy point.
- Limited-time status upgrades: Members have the opportunity to accelerate their status through discounted pathways. Marriott Bonvoy members can accelerate to Cathay Silver or Gold status, while Cathay members can accelerate to Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status.
- Status matching: Members can match their Marriott Bonvoy and Cathay membership tiers to access exclusive benefits and offers. Marriott Bonvoy Platinum/Titanium/Ambassador Elite members will be matched to the Cathay Silver membership tier, subject to limited quota, while Cathay Silver/Gold/Diamond members can enjoy equivalent Marriott Bonvoy Gold Elite status.
