First, it was the flying taxis, and now it’s a futuristic watercraft as Dubai continues its journey towards becoming a future-forward travel destination.

Madinat Jumeirah is now home to THE ICON, a stunning 13.5-metre sustainable yacht crafted by Designworks, a BMW Group subsidiary, and German tech start-up TYDE. Accessible through an exclusive luxury cruise experience from the D-Marin Marsa Al Arab Marina, THE ICON is reserved for residents staying in select accommodations at Jumeirah Dar Al Masyaf, the Presidential or Royal suites, or Jumeirah One members.

The arrival of THE ICON marks another milestone in Madinat Jumeirah’s commitment to environmental stewardship, complementing initiatives like the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project.

With its chic design and 360-degree ocean views, THE ICON offers both luxury and sustainability, being the world's first battery-powered, emissions-free yacht.

Utilising cutting-edge technology for climate-friendly mobility, THE ICON boasts up to 80% energy savings compared to conventional yachts. Despite its top speed of 30 knots, the yacht glides silently over the water, emitting only ambient sounds composed by Grammy and Academy Award-winning composer, Hans Zimmer.

Docked at Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, the luxury marina operated by D-Marin, THE ICON offers guests a glimpse into Dubai's future of sustainable luxury hospitality.
