If you’re dreaming of escaping to your own private island in Australia, the time is right with a string of paradise destinations up for sale.
For a cool A$10 million (US$6.4 million) you could become the owner of Goodnight Island on the south coast of New South Wales. Spread over 40 freehold acres, the new owner will be able to build a getaway paradise and moor a mega-yacht on the island’s private jetty.
Something a little more ambitious? About A$30 million (US19.25 million) will buy South Molle Island in Queensland’s Whitsundays islands, where the 28 acres could be developed into a luxury resort. The current owners are replenishing the jetty to accommodate tourist vessels.
Further south on the Great Barrier Reef, buyers are circling the 6.07ha Pumpkin Island in north Queensland. The fully functioning eco resort has five cottages, can sleep 34 people, and has two moorings and a helipad. The island also comes with its own oyster lease.
And if you need to somewhere to berth your luxury inter-island yacht, there is a marina for sale with quick access to the Great Barrier Reef.
Crystalbrook Superyacht Marina, one of Australia’s most iconic marine assets, has been listed for sale by CBRE. The 10-hectate property serves as one of Queensland’s main access points to the Great Barrier Reef.
Elsewhere, Ram Island is a 26-hectare rural retreat on Tasmania’s east coast – 75-minutes from Hobart Airport. It comes with a three-bedroom residence with modern living and entertaining, and an off-grid solar power supply. The Tasmanian mainland is minutes away via a private barge, which is included in the A$5.5m-A$6m sale price.
Both South Molle Island and Pumpkin Island are listed through CBRE Hotels.
