In response to circulating reports, Tomorrowland spokesperson Debby
Wilmsen clarified that the festival's expansion into Thailand has not
yet been officially confirmed.
Despite media speculation fueled by Thai government spokesman Chai Wacharonke's statements, Tomorrowland is still in the exploratory phase regarding a potential event in the country.
Wilmsen elaborated, stating, "In December, the Tomorrowland team
engaged in discussions and explored various locations for a potential
festival in Thailand." She continued, "While we appreciate the
enthusiastic support, it's important to clarify that no official
agreements have been signed at this time. We are diligently conducting
research to assess the feasibility of hosting Tomorrowland in Thailand."
Regarding Wacharonke's assertion of 10 consecutive editions of
Tomorrowland in Thailand, Wilmsen debunked the claim, asserting, "There
is currently no confirmation on this matter."
Expressing gratitude for the Thai authorities' receptiveness, Wilmsen
affirmed Tomorrowland's interest in Thailand. "We are honoured by the
eagerness of Thai authorities to welcome us," she said. "However, our
focus remains on evaluating the potential for a festival in Thailand
through thorough feasibility studies."
Amidst expansion plans, Tomorrowland's flagship festival in Belgium
looms large. With a 20th-anniversary celebration on the horizon,
anticipation is high for the event in Boom, featuring renowned artists
like Swedish House Mafia and David Guetta.
