Goa-based airline FLY91 has inked an MoU with the Goa Department of Tourism to help promote domestic and inbound tourism to the state and strengthen the state government’s initiatives to empower hospitality businesses.
In turn, the Department of Tourism will support FLY91 at travel exhibitions, while also promoting FLY91 operations on the Goa Tourism social media handles.
Goa is keen to promote itself as a year-round, holistic travel and tourism destination based on the concept of ‘Goa Beyond Beaches’.
Manoj Chacko, managing director and CEO, FLY91 earlier worked in senior leadership roles at Emirates Airlines, Kingfisher Airlines and American Express.
FLY91 is a pure play, digital-first regional airline focussing on air connectivity across tier 2 and tier 3 cities in India. It plans to connect more than 50 cities across India in the next five years, operating with ATR 72-600 aircraft.
It will start operations with three planes and will scale up to six aircraft in the first year.
Fly91 said the logo - a flying butterfly - is a symbol of India's “mesmerising beauty and vibrant diversity”.
On its website, FLY91 is advertising for pilots, cabin crew and engineers.
