Scoot has revealed the first six destinations in South-east Asia that
will be operated by its new Embraer E190-E2 fleet. The new destinations
are Koh Samui and Sibu, and the existing destinations of Hat Yai,
Kuantan, Krabi and Miri.
The addition of Koh Samui and Sibu increases Scoot’s network to 69 destinations across 15 countries.
The E-Jet E2 family are medium-range twinjet airliners designed and produced by the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer.
Senior manager at Scoot’s network planning department Yan Han told
The Straits Times the new jets allow the carrier to “unlock new regional
growth opportunities” to smaller cities with lower demand and address
aircraft-type constraints in the coming years.
The direct flight services from Singapore operated by the first two
E190-E2s are expected to begin in May, except for flights to Kuantan and
Sibu, which are expected to begin from early June.
