Vietnam has long been a haven for travellers seeking affordable getaways, but there's one destination that takes it to the next level: Hue.

According to Agoda, Hue is the most affordable place to stay in Vietnam during April and May. Surpassing last year's winner, Ninh Binh, Hue in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue boasts an enticing average room rate of US$43.

From its ancient citadel to the Perfume River, Hue offers a blend of history, culture, and affordability. At the heart of Hue is its ancient citadel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that boasts breathtaking architecture and centuries-old secrets.

No visit to Hue is complete without immersing oneself in its bustling markets, where vendors offer colorful textiles, aromatic spices, and mouthwatering street food. Travelers can indulge in the culinary delights of Vietnam as they sample local specialties like banh khoai (savoury pancakes) and bun bo Hue (spicy beef noodle soup).
