France has escalated its terror alert to the highest level on 24 March, following the Moscow shootings, where camouflage-clad gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons at concertgoers on 22 March.

This attack resulted in the deaths of at least 60 people and left 145 injured. The gunmen targeted civilians near Moscow, unleashing chaos just before a performance at the Crocus City Hall. Verified footage captured the harrowing scenes of panic and violence as concert attendees fled for their lives amidst the gunfire.

As investigations unfolded, the militant group, Islamic State, claimed responsibility for the massacre, but failed to provide the motive behind the attack.

Fearing a similar threat, France raised its terror alert warning to the highest level which entails heightened security measures, including increased armed forces patrols in public areas like train stations, airports, and religious sites.
