Australia will host the World
Travel & Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Global Summit in October 2024, marking the first
time the event will visit Oceania.
Previous host countries have included Spain, China,
Japan, United States, Argentina and Thailand.
WTTC closed its first-ever Global Summit in Africa last
week with more than 1,200 delegates from more than 45 countries attending the
event in Kigali, Rwanda.
Julia Simpson, WTTC president & CEO, said, “The
success of this year’s Global Summit in Kigali is testament to the power of
Africa’s travel and tourism sector. Through Rwanda, the continent has well and
truly put itself on the map.”
During the Global Summit in Kigali, WTTC launched its ground-breaking
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging report which tracks DEIB in the travel
and tourism sector and highlights effective practices and recommendations for
the future.
