In the words of Adam Radwanski, senior vice president & managing director, Asia Pacific, Silversea Cruises:
One trend we have witnessed is a desire for authentic food
experiences. What does that look like? It is about knowing ingredient
sources, regional seasonal dishes, engaging with producers and chefs and
learning. Travellers want to explore a destination through its culinary
tradition. As a small ship, Silversea can reach smaller ports and,
where available, will include food experiences as shore excursions, such
as Kobe beef tastings and sake distilleries in Japan.
Gastronomy-led exploration
Guests can learn all this through our S.A.L.T. programme, highly
regarded among our guests and the cultural immersion it facilitates
trickles through from our dining experiences and bespoke,
destination-inspired cocktails to shore experiences with local chefs and
culinary experts.
S.A.L.T. is a real differentiator for Silversea and is a holistic,
integrated programme of food and dining experiences. stands as
Silversea's distinctive, holistic food and dining programme, seamlessly
integrating bespoke cocktails, chef's tables, and on-land excursions.

Enriching experiences
Silversea wants to enrich travellers through experiences that educate
and inspire. Whether it is learning about the natural world on an
expedition cruise or learning how to master a classic Greek dish with an
onboard cooking class, our travellers come home with stories to tell
and new skills to share. One of our most popular experiences on board is
S.A.L.T. Lab cooking classes, where guests learn how to make specialty
dishes from the region that they are sailing in.
On our expeditions, guests learn from our highly qualified expedition
experts, who focus on topics such as anthropology, ornithology,
biology, geology, and wildlife. They travel to hard-to-reach places on
board zodiac craft and see natural wonders under the guidance of very
knowledgeable guides. Silversea also enables enrichment while on the
ship. Silver Nova, for example, has an art collection that includes
1,766 artworks and 230 books by 59 artists from 25 countries. The art
programme brings together an international collection of works that
spark curiosity, offering a visual journey, and exploring the new and
the next.
The next wave for Silversea
Silver Ray is set to debut in June 2024, commencing its maiden season in the Mediterranean, then crossing the Atlantic in December.
In 2024, Silver Nova embarks on an Asian voyage from Japan to
Australia, followed by the launch of Silver Ray, the newest Nova class
ship. Silversea expands its Mediterranean presence from 69 to 84
voyages, emphasising smaller ports like Sevilla, Milos, and Amorgos, and
introducing exclusive itineraries to lesser-known Greek islands. Also,
Silver Ray offers a Monaco Grand Prix itinerary. The Antarctica Bridge
programme continues, offering flights for expedited travel across the
Drake Passage.
