Tokyo has a new tourist attraction – but you’ll need to lift your eyes up high to see it.
"Tokyo Night & Light" is a projection mapping display which uses
light and sound as an expression of multi-coloured art, with the Tokyo
Metropolitan Government Building, one of Tokyo's main landmarks, as its
canvas.
Encompassing an expansive 13,905 square meters, this attraction holds
a Guinness World Records title for the largest permanent architectural
projection-mapped display.
Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike, launching the light show, explained, "We
hope that art combined with Japanese projection mapping technology will
make this into a new tourist attraction.”
The display will show different content on weekdays and weekends. The viewing location is Citizen’s Plaza, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo.
