Tigerair Taiwan is spreading the festive joy among its 800 employees
as they head into the Chinese New Year, gifting an impressive average
bonus of 10.8 months.
Chairman Chen Han-ming revealed this windfall during a recent board
meeting, expressing gratitude to the dedicated staff for their
resilience during the challenging Covid-19 period.
The bonus package includes four months' pay, a standard bonus of
NT$20,000 (US$635), and performance-based bonuses ranging between
NT$50,000 and NT$80,000. Top performers received up to 14 months in
recognition of their hard work.
Tigerair Taiwan's stellar 2023, marked by an 850% sales surge to
NT$12.6 billion, underscores the airline's successful rebound amid
increasing air travel demand.
Chen had teased this generous bonus in a December letter, promising a "10 out of 10" rating for sincerity and satisfaction.
Other Taiwanese carriers, including China Airlines and Eva Airways, have also rewarded their employees with substantial bonuses.
