Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has made its largest newbuild order yet, commissioning eight vessels across its three brands from Fincantieri. This order will add nearly 25,000 berths to the fleet and introduce new ship classes, alongside a multi-ship pier at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas.

Scheduled for delivery between 2026 and 2036, the order comprises four Prima-Plus class ships for Norwegian Cruise Line, two 86,000-gross-ton ships for Oceania Cruises, and two 77,000-gross-ton ships for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., emphasised the strategic significance of the order, enhancing the fleet's innovation and efficiency while scaling operations. The addition of a pier at Great Stirrup Cay will facilitate seamless access to the private island, enhancing guest experiences.

Partnering with Fincantieri, each brand will design their new ship class, focusing on innovation and sustainability. Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of Fincantieri, highlighted the shared commitment to excellence in maritime travel.

Mark A. Kempa, CFO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, anticipates these investments will bolster earnings and shareholder value while maintaining a favorable financial outlook. The company aims for strong net leverage reduction, demonstrating a commitment to long-term growth and financial stability.
