MSC Cruises has unveiled its strategic plan to amplify its presence
in China by introducing a second ship in 2024. This strategic move
follows the earlier announcement of the MSC Bellissima's deployment,
solidifying MSC Cruises as the sole international cruise line operating
two ships concurrently in China during the year.
The introduction of the MSC Splendida signifies a significant step,
indicating MSC Cruises' dedication to reinvigorating the cruise sector
in the region. This underscores the company's commitment to address the
growing demand for maritime vacations, rekindling traveller enthusiasm
after pandemic-related disruptions.
MSC Cruises has also expanded its offerings, extending itineraries
for the MSC Bellissima from April to September 2024. Notably, these
itineraries span both Shenzhen and Shanghai, enhancing accessibility for
a wider range of travellers.
Helen Huang, president of MSC Cruises China, expressed confidence in
these endeavours, noting that the swift sales bookings for the MSC
Bellissima's 2024 itineraries reflect a robust demand for cruise
vacations in China. The deployment of two modern vessels underscores
both the cruise industry's resurgence and the appetite for premium
voyages.
The MSC Bellissima is set to debut on 29 June 2024 from Shenzhen,
embarking on a series of eight voyages to destinations like Hong Kong,
Okinawa, Yaeyama Islands, and Miyako Island. Subsequently, eight more
sailings from 31 July to 6 September 2024 will cover several ports in
Japan, including Fukuoka, Kagoshima, Osaka, Okinawa, and Shimonoseki.
