Centara Hotels & Resorts has appointed Michael Henssler as its
new chief operating officer with the aim to fortify the brand's global
expansion efforts and enhance guest experiences by combining innovation
with Thai-style hospitality.
Bringing close to three decades of industry expertise, Henssler's
career spans leadership roles in Europe, the Middle East, and China. His
most recent tenure was as Kempinski's chief operating officer for Asia.
Prior to that, Henssler held prominent positions at Kempinski, notably
serving as president in China and managing director of Key International
Hotel Management, a Chinese joint venture.
In his new role at Centara, Henssler will oversee commercial,
operational, and developmental aspects. His mandate involves
facilitating Centara's expansion plans to double its portfolio and
ascend to a top 100 global hotel operator by 2027.
This growth strategy encompasses securing new hotel management
contracts across diverse international markets and destinations. The
expansion vision also incorporates Centara's array of six distinct
brands and newly envisioned sectors, including branded residences and
wellness retreats.
