Meliá Hotels International is expanding its presence in Southeast Asia with two new properties in Thailand.

Partnering with Asset World Corporation (AWC), Meliá will launch Meliá Pattaya City and Paradisus Jomtien Resort, increasing its Thailand portfolio to six hotels.

After undergoing a complete renovation, Meliá Pattaya City is set to welcome guests in December 2024. Located in the popular beachside town of Pattaya, just a short distance from Bangkok, the hotel will transform the existing three-star, 234-room Grand Sole Pattaya to reflect Meliá's Spanish style and ambiance.

Embracing its coastal setting, the new property will enhance its dining options with an all-day restaurant inspired by a local fisherman's village, while new bars and meeting spaces will incorporate elements of local culture. Additionally, amenities such as a kids club, fitness centre, and theater will be introduced to enhance the guest experience.

Meanwhile, Paradisus Jomtien Resort will unveil its prime oceanfront location in 2028 with a 43-floor tower housing 698 rooms. Complementing Meliá's eco-friendly initiatives, the resort will showcase a sustainable facade adorned with vertical tropical greenery.

Among its highlights, 44 rooms will boast outdoor plunge pools blending seamlessly with the skyline, while the property will also feature multiple restaurants, a gym, spa, convention centre, and meeting rooms.
