The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) is commemorating its 50th
anniversary with the launch of the inaugural MAH Tourism Fair 2024, a
dedicated initiative to bolster domestic tourism.
Set to transpire on 6-7 July 2024 at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Kuala
Lumpur, the event emerges as a strategic platform fostering direct
interaction between industry stakeholders and the public.
According to the organisers, the MAH Tourism Fair is akin to the
MATTA Fair, but instead of outbound tourism it focuses on promoting
domestic tourism. Over 2,500 room vouchers will be disbursed to visitors
making purchases during the event, rendering upscale accommodations
more accessible.
“Recently due to circumstances beyond our control, Malaysia’s hotels
have been perceived as expensive for locals,” said Dato’ Khoo Boo Lim,
vice president of MAH and organising chairman of MAH Tourism Fair. “With
this initiative, we aim to make luxury stays more accessible and
encourage the public to discover worthwhile destinations right here in
our home, Malaysia.”
Supported by Tourism Malaysia, the fair will showcase a diverse array
of exhibitors from the hospitality sector. Attendees can explore
enticing hotel stays, culinary experiences, travel packages, wellness
offerings, and wedding deals.
