Macao's historic Red Market, having undergone a 24-month renovation, is poised to reopen in June with a host of enhancements.
Originally built in the 1930s, the market, famed for its distinctive
red bricks, has received extensive upgrades including reinforced
structure, improved facilities, and new features like air-conditioning
and barrier-free lifts.
The Municipal Affairs Bureau announced that vendors will be invited
to tour the renovated market soon, with expectations of moving in by
May. The revitalised Red Market, situated in the bustling St. Anthony
District, will accommodate nearly 130 vendors.
Renowned for its vibrant atmosphere and variety of Chinese cuisine
products, the market is a treasure trove for food enthusiasts. Visitors
can explore three floors of bustling stalls selling everything from
fresh seafood to meats and vegetables.
The Red Market not only provides access to fresh ingredients and
