BERLIN – ITB China organisers Messe Berlin have postponed this year’s event, scheduled for Shanghai World Expo from May 13-15. No new date has been announced.
Organisers said the COVID-19 situation in China “continues to be challenging and developments in the following months are very hard to foresee at this stage”.
Messe Berlin said the decision to postpone the event had been taken “in a responsible way to allow all participants to make necessary arrangements in a timely manner”.
Participants can reach the organising team by sending queries directly to contact@itb-china.com.
The decision to postpone ITB China comes amid the postponement of several major events in the region.
Multinational technology conglomerate Cisco this week pulled the pin on its Cisco Live Melbourne conference. The event was originally scheduled to take place from Mar. 3-6.
Business travel to and from Australia is also predicted to slump over the next few months as corporations restrict employees’ movements, particularly on airlines, with global business services firm EY and property developer Lendlease among firms introducing travel bans.
