In celebration of its upcoming 150th anniversary, Holland America Line (HAL) has unveiled an extensive selection of cruise sailings to Europe and Alaska for the next two years.
Celebrating 150 years in Europe
HAL’s 2022 Europe season will kick off in April next year with five of its ships — including Rotterdam, the latest addition to the cruise line’s 11-ship fleet — sailing a variety of seven- to 35-day voyages throughout Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and across the Atlantic Ocean.
Exclusively on 15 October 2022, Rotterdam is scheduled to make a special voyage from Rotterdam, Netherlands to New York City, the original route that her predecessor, Rotterdam I, took more than 100 years ago.
HAL will make a return to Europe in 2023 to celebrate its official 150-year anniversary with four of its ships offering a range of seven- to 41-day voyages across 45 diverse itineraries. There will be a wider variety of seven-day cruises offering weekend embarkation and disembarkation options in the Mediterranean, a chance for cruisers to get the most out of the experience.
The 2023 cruise itineraries will also include overnight stays in several prominent European cities such as Barcelona, Istanbul, St. Petersburg and Reykjavik.
Pushing frontiers in Alaska
HAL was launched in 1873 and made an impact in the industry for being the first cruise liner to sail to Alaska and Yukon. Today, HAL is recognised as the “best cruise line" for Alaska cruises and cruise tours by travel experts and cruisers.
In 2022 and 2023, cruisers can tour Alaska onboard HAL's ships. Guests departing during the weekends from Seattle or Vancouver will have the option of choosing seven- or 14-day itineraries with ports of call in Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka and Skagway.
Alternatively, guests can opt for a ‘surf and turf’ adventure with HAL’s Denali Cruisetours. This unique experience will take travellers on a voyage through glacier-flanked waters, followed by a journey on land via the McKinley Explorer to Denali National Park and Preserve where guests can spend up to three nights at the McKinley Chalet Resort.
For an all-inclusive experience, cruisers can opt for HAL’s recently launched “Have It All” premium package which allows guests to pay one simple fare for four high value amenities that include shore excursion(s), drink packages, specialty dining and Wi-Fi.
