Dream Cruises and Klook have announced a global synchronisation of their APIs (Application Programming Interface), which will offer improved booking efficiencies and rates, starting with the Singapore and Hong Kong markets.

In layman terms, an API integrates a third-party GDS, feeds, or wholesaler's inventory into a booking engine, so consumers pay direct on site — instead of hopping over to a competitor's page, or searching independently on search engines or OTAs.

For this partnership, this means customers will be able to secure the best rates in real-time, with instant booking confirmations, and access to Dream Cruises' worldwide cruise routes as border reopenings firm up.

The travel and leisure booking platform also recently partnered with Dream Cruises on a Dream Comedy Cruise — which set sail on 20 October — featuring Singaporean comedians. Both companies have expressed that more such collaborations are set to come to consumers in 2022.

As the importance of investing in API becomes increasingly apparent for the travel sector, Michael Goh, President of Dream Cruises understands that the collaboration isn't just about enhancing productivity — but about opening opportunities for sales and to scale up.

"From a business point of view, this partnership will enable our systems and platforms to connect and share data simultaneously, which in turn increase productivity, connectivity, collaboration, as well as grow sales opportunities.”
