Air India will offer solo female travellers, and mothers travelling
with their children, special seating to reassure them of their security.

The decision followed feedback received from some female passengers
who felt intimidated when placed in a middle seat between male
passengers.
Air India's initiative gives staff discretion to move a solo female
traveller from an assigned middle seat to an aisle or window seat.
The airline also said that crew will also extend the offer to children travelling alone and seated in centre seats.
Under CEO Campbell Wilson, Air India is taking major strides to reassert its place among the world’s leading airlines.
Last week the airline revealed its first A350 in a new livery. The
delivery of the plane is expected later this year, the first in a total
of 40 Airbus A350s ordered by the carrier.
