The Bali Hotels Association (BHA), at its recent Annual General
Manager Meeting at Conrad Bali, saw the appointment of new leadership at
the helm.
Shaun Dünhofen, general manager of Karma Resorts Bali, was elected
chairman, while supporting him in the vice chairman role is Franklyn
Kocek, general manager of The Stones Hotel – Legian Bali, Autograph
Collection.
Shaun and Franklyn will lead the association from 1 January 2024 to
31 December 2024, succeeding Fransiska Handoko (2023 chairwoman) and
Kevin Girard (2023 vice-chairman). New BHA boards of directors will be
announced soon.
The assembly also saw the gathering of general managers from BHA
member hotels, reflecting on 2023 accomplishments and set the stage for a
promising 2024.
BHA spotlighted significant milestones including representation in
national and international forums, advocating for local sustainable
products, and reviving halted programmes such as training and charity
events.
The association welcomed new members, surpassing pre-pandemic
figures, and notably tripled its charity event's fundraising goal,
supporting vital organisations - Annika Linden Foundation and Sungai
Watch.
The AGM concluded with the inaugural BHA Charity Dinner, a culinary
celebration featuring locally sourced ingredients. Funds raised from
auctions and raffles will support The Annika Linden Centre and Sungai
Watch, addressing disabilities and environmental issues.
